Please join us and invite a friend to learn more about Sandy Spring!

In 1817, the Quakers in Sandy Spring built the current brick Meeting House. It was constructed by members of the Meeting out of local materials. For 200 years, the building has served continuously as a place of worship for the Sandy Spring and Brookeville Quaker community and played a vital role in the Greater Olney area.

To celebrate this important building, a program will be held at the Sandy Spring Meeting House beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12. Local architects and historians will speak about the building’s interesting details, the architecture of the period, and the graveyard behind the Meeting House. Readings from the 100th year celebration gathering also will be read.

Free and open to the public. Please join us to mark this occasion.
