AFSC & FCNL on the War in Iran

Join Sandy Spring Friends Meeting’s Peace Committee as we welcome Michael Merryman-Lotz (American Friends Service Committee) and Hassan El-Tayyab (Friends Committee on National Legislation) for a presentation on the US/Israel war against Iran.

Mike Merryman-Lotze serves as AFSC's Just Peace Global Policy Director. As a member of the Global Policy and Strategy Department, Mike leads AFSC’s global peace building policy work, supporting both US and International staff and programs.

Hassan El-Tayyab is an author, songwriter, and FCNL’s legislative director for Middle East policy. Hassan co-chairs the U.S. Ceasefire Coalition and leads FCNL’s work to end the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, advocate for Palestinian human rights, and advance diplomacy with Iran. Hassan was honored by the Arab America Foundation and the Middle East Policy Council as an awardee of their respective “40 under 40” initiatives for his policy work on Capitol Hill.

Join us on Sunday, October 25 at 12:30 pm in person in the Sandy Spring Lyceum (17801 Meeting House Road) or online by Zoom. For those attending in person, there will be a potluck lunch starting at 12:00 pm; feel free to bring a dish to share!
